I played in the 29th Annual Base Borden Pro Am yesterday. Beautiful golf course, great day, well organized event and fantastic company. Unfortunatly I played terrible. However, we had a 21 handicap in our group that played very well. After finishing the front nine he shot 38! Can you believe it? 38! He would have better odd's of winning the lottery then shooting 38 on nine holes. But, it was great to play with someone who played the nine of his life! Unfortunatly my friend came back to reality on the back nine but thanks to him we still finished 3rd. Everyone in our group broke 90! 80, 84, 84 and 86 which is respectable, but disappointing as we easily could have won. I am looking forward to next year, hopefully we can pair up with the same guys and take down the feild!
This is tournament week for me National Pines Wednesday and Bond Head Thursday, can't wait!

I just finished nine holes of golf with a business associate of mine. What a great day, the course was beautiful kudos to Mike and the crew! I have been struggling with my game for about five years now. I have experimented with everything from one plane to two plane swings, strong grip and weak grip the list goes on and on. I have even though of swing right handed. Ouch! I have always had a tendency to severely hook the golf ball and I just can't seem to get rid of it. I thought having a strong grip it would make my hook get even worst. BOY WAS I WRONG! I changed my grip before I played today to a super strong grip. (All four knuckles showing on my top hand and both my thumbs on the side of the grip) So I step up on #10 (We snuck out on the back nine to avoid the traffic) and hit my best drive in years! I had a second shot of less than 40 yards! Perfect! Anyways I ended up making bogey because I hit it into the bunker and couldn't get up and down. But boy did having a strong grip really change my game....

Us as club owners don't like to see rain in the forecast for the day. It also doesnt help that the weather reports are always so negative. 40% chance of rain to me means 60% of sun shine. But I'll take it! It been way to long without any rain, I believe we have had less then a inch for about a month. Maybe we can finally shut off our pumps!

What a way to finish a great week at the open championship hosted at Royal Lytham and St Anna's in England. Tiger on his knees making triple, McDowell crumbling and Snedeker falling apart. Unfortunately for Adam Scott he couldn't hold on to a four shot lead with four to play to win his first major. It make us amateurs feel great about our own games. Congratulation to the" Big Easy" Ernie Els the R&A couldn't of crowned a more deserving champion. Welcome back Ernie!
Some of the holes on Royal Lytham remind me of our holes at Tangle, the only difference we have 45 bunkers and Lytham has 205. WOW! I love the look of real links style golf courses. The natural grasses and fescue, the un touch rolling terrain really makes links golf a true test to one's ability. I played here at Tangle last year and had to hit 5 iron from 145 on 4 because it was so windy. I could just image how windy it gets at Lytham.
I can't wait to watch this week's PGA tour stop. The Canadian Open is the second oldest Open Championship...
