What a way to finish a great week at the open championship hosted at Royal Lytham and St Anna's in England. Tiger on his knees making triple, McDowell crumbling and Snedeker falling apart. Unfortunately for Adam Scott he couldn't hold on to a four shot lead with four to play to win his first major. It make us amateurs feel great about our own games. Congratulation to the" Big Easy" Ernie Els the R&A couldn't of crowned a more deserving champion. Welcome back Ernie!
Some of the holes on Royal Lytham remind me of our holes at Tangle, the only difference we have 45 bunkers and Lytham has 205. WOW! I love the look of real links style golf courses. The natural grasses and fescue, the un touch rolling terrain really makes links golf a true test to one's ability. I played here at Tangle last year and had to hit 5 iron from 145 on 4 because it was so windy. I could just image how windy it gets at Lytham.
I can't wait to watch this week's PGA tour stop. The Canadian Open is the second oldest Open Championship in the world, too bad it doesn't get the credit it deserves. Hamilton Golf and Country Club will be hosting another Canadian Open. What a great golf course.
Stay tuned for more Tangle Blogs!
