Golf Tip

Alignment is the most important fundamental that most players suffer with. To get a more consistent set up position consider practicing the following:

Parallel Clubs Drill

Drop a club on the ground pointing toward your target and get into a stance/address position.  Make sure your arms are hanging comfortably from your shoulders with no tension. Next lay down a club on your feet line making sure the two clubs are parallel to each other. Visualize a set of train tracks running parallel towards your target.  Hit 5 – 10 shots at a fixed target.  Then change club and repeat the process aiming at a new target. Your alignment will improve dramatically if you practice hitting shots with consistent alignment.

Golf is a game of effortless power which comes from flexibility and solid balance while swinging the club. To promote a better turn and create more power, practice this drill each day in the comfort of your home.

 Turn and Hold Drill

Stand with your back towards a wall with your heels approximately one foot from the base of the floor. Turn first to the right and place your hands with fingers spread to the wall. Hold for 30 seconds and then go the other direction and repeat the same process.  Each day try and reach your hands further across the wall, creating more stretch and resulting in better flexibility in your core.
